Our prime purpose in this life is to help others - the Dalai Lama

What is your purpose in life? Have you paused a minute and define your goal in life? People have different purposes in life. Some have one or two goals while the other has up to ten, hundreds or even countless. More, the mean to accomplish those goals is variably far different from one another.

Some people simply want to have a normal life with a warm family living together with ideal type of husband or wife. Other may wish to live in a countryside having a small farm and mind only their family business, not bothering with the outside world. For many, they would prefer a life of happiness by obtaining as much money and materials such as cars, two or three big villas one in the city center and another one at the beautiful bay or luxurious, high tech tools as modern phone, Swiss Swatch with High Definition entertainment studio as possible. Very minors, yet, wish to carry out a life of selfless and a life of serving all beings and society.

Of course, it is not forbidden to invent such ambitious goals/dream. It is everyone rights and freedoms to choose the optimum choice they thought they would. And that most of the options everybody is going to make are embedded by societal forces and cultural influence. They stand in a particular position and jump to the other points which often largely determined by the previous factor.

Now whatever decision all of us have been made, it is ourselves the mastermind. We are owner of the decision but not the consequences. We cannot choose the consequence. Once we made up our mind, the outcome is going to return to all of us naturally. Hence, the only thing we can control the consequences is by wisely control the options we are going make up.

Then what kind of goal or dream should be yours? There is no, in fact, precise answer to this question. However, there is a format which is highly likely universally applied and that many great leaders, thinkers, advocators and scholars have gone through. The Dalai Lama, for example, is seeking to obtain a harmless life. His premium dream is to not get other hurt. He would give hand to people which he always called brothers and sisters once at a time but, for sure, he will not destroy his brothers and sisters’ happiness if he can’t do something else.

Look at the His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s personal view, it is such a simple but kindness ever. He did not dream to have to big, complicated dream. He has a very simple one which every of us could also possess it but many of us can’t. The Dalai Lama’s goal in life, though to us is so simplistic, is powerful and universal.

Can every of us propose this goal in mind? Think again! We do not need to be rich, having millions of US dollars in our pocket or possessing lots of materials before we can help people. We need nothing to help people besides being a good people and be peaceful with our neighbors. We do not need to wait until we are old enough to start to be nice, humble; we can be it right here right now.

Last but not least, be clear with your goals and sort out for the best few. Do not try to obtain that big amount of dreams. We are not going to accomplish them all. And also it is recommended to invent such a dream that is humanity friendly and environmental friendly. This is the only basic but straightforward comments. As soon, you are going to bed and get up please revise again your goal and check if it is in the same path with your heroes; if not readjust it.

Do not forget to say thank you to the Dalai Lama for his priceless tip of creating your lasting dream in life.
